A BetterPAD is a home designed around life, not just appearance. It is healthy, comfortable and connected to its surroundings. It uses materials intelligently, performs efficiently and treads lightly on the environment. Above all, it is shaped by how people actually live, move and feel, and by a belief that good design should quietly improve everyday life.
We are a residential architecture and interior design studio in Oxted, Surrey. We work on substantial refurbishments, extensions and new homes for families across Surrey, the Home Counties and London.

Highwood Cottage in Cranleigh transforms a modest Surrey home into a calm, light-filled family retreat, balancing rural character with contemporary craft. Careful planning, deep attention to detail and thoughtful sustainable upgrades create spaces that feel generous, grounded and quietly joyful. Responding sensitively to landscape, context and daily life, the home reflects how the family truly lives. We are incredibly proud that this project was recognised as the best house in Surrey.

From early sketch designs through to builder appointment - developing the design one considered step at a time, alongside all necessary consents, technical coordination and tender.

Oversight
Close architectural oversight and formal contract administration throughout construction - ensuring the finished home reflects the full ambition of the design.
